About the Role
The WASH Officer will support the planning, implementation, and evaluation of water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) programs. Reporting to the WASH Specialist, the role focuses on achieving key program results to ensure children live in a safe, clean environment and thrive.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and plan WASH programs.
- Monitor program implementation and ensure results delivery.
- Provide technical and operational support for projects.
- Prepare for and respond to humanitarian WASH emergencies.
- Build partnerships and foster knowledge sharing.
- Drive innovation and capacity building in the WASH sector.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in public health, social sciences, behavior change communication, sanitary engineering, or related fields. Postgraduate qualifications are a plus.
- Experience: At least 2 years in WASH-related programs in developing countries.
- Languages: Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of an additional UN language (e.g., French, Spanish) or a local language is an asset.
- Familiarity with emergency response and developing country experience is desirable.
