The University of Pavia and EDiSU (Institute of the Right to University Studies) are now accepting applications for the 2026 CICOPS Scholarships. This initiative is designed to foster international cooperation, particularly with Developing Countries as classified by the World Bank (low, lower-middle, and upper-middle-income economies).
🎓 About the Scholarship
A total of 6 scholarships are available for visiting scholars to carry out research collaborations at the University of Pavia for a period of 4 to 12 weeks in 2026.
✅ Eligibility Criteria
To apply, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- A minimum of two years of teaching experience or work within international organizations or institutions.
- Open to junior and senior university staff, as well as members of major research centers and international organizations with a focus on development studies.
- Must be affiliated with institutions in Developing Countries.
- Not eligible: Individuals currently enrolled in a Doctoral or Postgraduate Course at an Italian university.
💡 Scholarship Benefits
The CICOPS Scholarship covers:
- Travel expenses (economy class return flight)
- Accommodation in a University College
- Meals via a prepaid card for University canteens
- Health and personal accident insurance
- A weekly contribution of €150 (gross)
- Visa support, including an invitation letter and potential contribution for visa issuance
📌 Selected scholars must confirm acceptance within 20 days of the award notification.

Research stays should take place during the following periods in 2026:
- January 12 – July 24
- September 7 – December 18
